On July 18th at 8 AM the long awaited new Spanish Fork Clinic opened its doors for its first patient visits.  We purchased the land just south of the old Spanish Fork Building from one of the orginal founders of the Spanish Fork Clinic, Dr. Enoch Ludlow, in anticipation of eventually building a new facility on that site.  While we loved our original building, we outgrew the space for our family medicine doctors.  We were using a space orginally built for six doctors working out of two exam rooms with seven physicians.  While the need for family care physicians continues to grow in the Spanish Fork area, we simply had nowhere to see those patients.

After long months of discussing our options we decided to build a new facility just south of our exisiting building and move all the family medicine doctors there.  We plan to now remodel the downstairs of our older building and update it and make the space a beautiful, comfortable office to house five physicians.  Our pediatricians are still using their space upstairs in the older facility and our plan is to move all of them, and one doctorof our OB/GYN group to the main floor, expand the number of exam rooms available for them, redo the decor and functionality of that space to provide for the needs of our pediatric population.

In the new building we provide 10 different "clinics" with three exam rooms per doctor, a large nursing station and weigh station for our nursing staff, a convenient doctor's office in each of our 10 clinics as well as one "procedure room" shared between each two doctors.  In addition, we put in a full service laboratory, and new state-of-the-art digital x-ray equipment.  We have always tried to provide a place where a patient could be seen and where most basic procedures could be performed without having the patient drive to and fro for other testing.  Therefore, on our Spanish Fork campus we have an x-ray machine in both buildings, lab facilities in both.  We also have ultrasound testing available on our campus.  We also have other equipment that a patient may wear home at night to check for heart functions and blood pressure issues.  Of course, in our convenient Art City Medical Center in Springville we can order treadmill tests and dexa scans (to check for bone density problems).  We pride ourselves on being able to schedule appointments to see specialists and to order other tests such as CAT scans, MRIs and sleep studies while our patients are with us in the clinic.  We are, indeed, a place where many, many tests and exams are available on site for our patient's convenience.

You will find our new facilities to be calm and peacful and very patient friendly.  Another new feature we added in the new building has proved to be very popular.  we now are an urgent care center, open Monday through Friday from 8 to 8 for walk-in urgent appointments.  There is no need to make an appointment on the phone if you do not wish to do so for these services.  We are also open from 9-5 on Saturdays for urgent care needs.

What is urgent care?  Well, any acute illness, including colds, flu, cuts and scrapes, sudden aches and pains, laceration repair, broken bones, any illness that comes on suddenly and needs attention.  If you have other longer term issues, like diabetes control, hypertension, asthma, you will prefer to see your regular Canyon View doctor for your care.  These issues are best seen by someone who is very familiar with your ongoing problems and will help you take appropriate steps to become healthy and keep these chronic conditions under control.  We ask also that you go to your regular Canyon View doctor to handle your ongoing prescription needs.

Here are some comments we hear every day in our clinic: "I just love all the windows throughout the clinic."  "it is so calm and peaceful here.  You seem to have so much more room now."  "I love all your beautiful artwork everywhere."  "I seem to be able to get in to see my doctor much quicker than before."  "Everyone is so nice to me here."  "I can't believe they have a building like this in Spanish Fork."

We hope you will come visit us at our new Spanish Fork Clinic.  We are sure you will be very happy with the care you receive here and the beautiful environment we have provided to help you get healthy and stay healthy.  It is conveniently located just behind our older facility with the patient entrance on 1st south.  Come on in.  There is plenty of parking.
