Healthy Habits for Life

Raising children to have a healthy relationship with food and exercise can be tricky. It can be a source of anxiety or conflict in some families. Canyon View Pediatrics has teamed up with a health and wellness expert to offer personalized coaching to our patients. This program will help you develop life-long habits for living a healthy lifestyle.

How do I get started?

Individual sessions take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 3-8 pm. Saturday group classes are also available during the month.

The first two months of the program consists of four individualized sessions which lay a foundation for a healthier lifestyle for your family.

  • Session 1: Assess the needs of your family. This session is for parents only
  • Session 2: Establish personalized goals and set a plan your family can be excited about
  • Session 3: Learn how to create a balanced diet
  • Session 4: Learn how to create a lifestyle of exercise and activity

You will continue to meet once a month with your wellness coach to follow-up on your goals, track your progress and build on what you’ve learned. We will address barriers and celebrate successes at each appointment. Some topics include:

  • Recognizing emotional eating
  • Portion control
  • Creating healthy sleep habits
  • Motivation
  • The importance of hydration
  • Building muscle and boosting metabolism
  • Tips to incorporate fruits and vegetables
  • How to prepare for special occasions and eating out
