Pregnancy Care and Delivery

Prenatal care is very important. To help make sure that you and your baby will be as healthy as possible, follow some simple guidelines and check in regularly with your provider.

After you find out you are pregnant, you should make an appointment with your provider. Your first prenatal visit will likely be when you are 6 to 8 weeks pregnant. Your doctor will probably start by talking to you about your medical history and how you’ve been feeling. You’ll be weighed and have your blood pressure taken. Your provider will help you with a good nutritional program to help the mother healthy through all stages of pregnancy. The provider will also help the patient answer any important question about exercise, work, sex as well as other pregnancy related issues.

If you’re like most women, the pain of labor and delivery is one of the things that worry you about having a baby. This is certainly understandable, because labor is painful for most women.

It’s possible to have labor with relatively little pain, but it’s wise to prepare yourself by planning some strategies for coping with pain. Planning for pain is one of the best ways to ensure that you’ll stay calm and be able to deal with it when the time comes.
