Sports medicine is a very broad discipline involving sports related injuries, acute and chronic pain with sport participation, sport psychology, optimizing performance, and non-musculoskeletal ailments contracted while playing sports such as rashes, nail problems, etc.,

Pediatricians at Canyon View Pediatrics all love sport medicine and have a vested interest in sport related conditions. We encourage healthy sport participation for youth as an excellent way to exercise, develop character and facilitate social and emotional well-being.

The solution to most sports injuries, overuse conditions causing pain, and other sports related conditions are fairly straight forward. We believe in preventing overuse injury through preventive guidance. We perform pre-participation sports physicals throughout the year and can guide you on avoiding many problems. These physicals are provided at no cost to you above what your insurance pays. Should your child have a sport related ailment we would like to hear about it early to facilitate getting your child back in action as soon as possible.

Some sports problems require lab and x-ray which we are fortunate to have on site. We work with many physical therapist, sports medicine physicians and orthopedists in the community. Should your child’s condition require surgical intervention we are happy to arrange care for you.
