We provide patients with a useful reference guide for common medications, including recommended dosages, possible side effects, and other important information to ensure safe and effective use.

Acetaminophen (Tylenol) Dosage for Infants and Children

Fever can be a sign of serious illness. If your child is acting ill, please contact your child’s pediatrician.
Find right dose on chart.
Do not use more than one product containing Acetaminophen at the same time.
If possible, use weight to dose; otherwise, use age.
Do not give more than directed.
If needed, repeat the dose every 6-8 hours. Do not use more than 4 times a day.

Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) for Children

Do not use with other cold/cough medications other than Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen.
We do not recommend Benadryl combined with a decongestant.
Most commonly used during illness for sleep.
Do not use more than every 6 hours or as directed by your pediatrician.
Benadryl should not be given if the child has marked decreased activity, lethargy, or appears ill. If your child has these symptoms, please contact your pediatrician.

Ibuprofen (Motrin/Advil) Dosage for Infants and Children

If possible, use weight to dose; otherwise, use age.
Do not give more than directed.
If needed, repeat dose every 6-8 hours. Do not use more than 4 times a day.
