I’m Dr. Patrick McVey a Board Certified Pediatrician. As a Utah native with deep family roots in Spanish Fork I have a clear understanding that the strength of communities comes from the families that live in them. I have a philosophy that a Pediatrician’s role is to partner with families and act as an advisor and a resource so that they are able to make informed decisions concerning their child’s health and development. Truly listening to a family’s needs is key element of patient care because it allows for the creation of a holistic treatment plan.
I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University and then attended Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. With a strong desire to serve my country I joined the United States Navy as a Medical Officer and completed my Pediatric Residency at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. Following residency I served as a staff pediatrician at Naval Hospital Lemoore, in the Central Valley of California and then at Naval Hospital Rota, in Southern Spain. Now that I’ve left active duty I look forward to serving the Spanish Fork community.
Through these travels I’ve practiced in many different settings ranging from state of the art Medical Centers to more humble Community Hospitals, but the one constant that has kept it enjoyable is the opportunity to work with families and watch their children grow. I enjoy the full scope of pediatric care with specific areas of interest including Asthma, Allergy, ADHD and mental health.
The greatest blessings in my life are my wife, twin daughters and son. We’ve had many wonderful adventures together as we’ve traveled the world and made countless memories. Watching my own children learn and grow learn from the challenges they face has helped me become a better person, parent and pediatrician.
